RFE/RL journalists report the news in 20 countries where a free press is banned by the government or not fully established. We provide what many people cannot get locally: uncensored news, responsible discussion, and open debate. Funded by the U.S. Congress through the Broadcasting Board of Governors which is an independent agency of the United States government.
According to BBG website, its mission is to "inform, engage, and connect people around the world in support of freedom and democracy." The BBG supervised Voice of America (VOA), Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Radio y Television Marti, Radio Free Asia, and the Middle East Broadcast Networks.
RFE/RL relies on networks of local reporters to provide accurate news and information in 25 languages and 20 countries. RFE/RL also reaches Russian-speaking audiences in 26 countries (14 beyond the RFE/RL region) and globally via the Current Time digital television network. With over 600 full-time journalists, 750 freelancers, and 18 local bureaus, RFE/RL is one of the most comprehensive news operations in the world.
All media organizations are reporting from their own world view. Some call this political alignment, some editorial leaning and, and some media bias. We call them Narratives.
Sites are mainly Non-partisan or Impartial on their political alignment. They are mixed on whether they support the local Establishment but are usually critical on Trump. Also on a geopolitical level they are mixed whether supporting the Western Coalition.
We’ve done research on who owns or funds the site so you can learn easier about possible funding bias or conflicts of interests.
The reason we show relations to CFR, Bilderberg, Trilateral Commission and Chatham House is because there was a study made by Swiss Propaganda Research. They found out that many western news media have relations to those organizations.
